Discovery of Responsive Electronic Evidence (Ambient & Active)

Active Data

NTI applies computer forensics to review active data files (E-mails, word processing documents, spreadsheets, databases, design schematics, etc.) in their native electronic format, culling out unresponsive data to create a manageable universe of electronic discovery. Using computer forensics, many file conversion steps are removed from the process, resulting in a significantly faster turnaround for a fraction of the cost of traditional e-discovery processes.

Ambient Data

Large volumes of computer data exist in obscure areas on computer storage devices called “ambient data”; these areas include swap and page files, file slack and unallocated space. When computers are in use, multiple files are being created and stored by the computer. Even when files are “deleted”, the information in those files remains stored within the computer. This “hidden” data can contain very telling evidence. NTI uses sophisticated technology tools – and investigative smarts – to scour obscure storage areas for crucial information – the electronic smoking gun.
